• Mechanical properties: The tensile strength of titanium alloy angles generally ranges from 686 to 1176 MPa, depending on the alloy type. For example, the tensile strength of Ti-6AI-4V alloy is about 1000MPa, while the tensile strength of TA2 alloy is 440-590MPa.12 In addition, the compressive strength of titanium alloy is not lower than its tensile strength, and the shear strength is generally 60% to 70% of the tensile strength.
• Processing performance: titanium alloy angle has good processing performance, can be shaped by hot deformation and cold working. Thermal deformation is usually carried out in the two-phase region, the deformation needs to be greater than 50% in order to be transformed into an equiaxial organisation. After processing, it can be subjected to a variety of heat treatment processes, such as stress relief annealing, normal annealing, recrystallisation annealing and double annealing, etc., in order to improve its mechanical properties.
• Corrosion resistance: titanium alloy angle steel shows excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of media, especially in seawater, wet chlorine gas and oxidising, neutral and weakly reducing media. In addition, the corrosion resistance of titanium alloy angle steel is close to that of pure titanium, and it can work for a long time under 400℃, and the short-time working temperature can reach 700-750℃.
