400 Series Stainless Steel Channel
400 Series Stainless Steel Channel Products Production Process
- Composition and structure: 400 series stainless steel channel is mainly composed of iron, carbon and chromium, and contains no or a small amount of nickel, so it is also known as nickel-saving stainless steel or 'stainless steel'. Its structure is mainly ferrite and martensite, with normal magnetic properties and strong resistance to oxidation at high temperatures.
- Physical and Mechanical Properties: 400 series stainless steel channel is superior to carbon steel in physical and mechanical properties, with high NMness and strength. It can be used in high temperature environments, up to 1200F (about 393 degrees Celsius), and has good heat treatment properties.
- Corrosion resistance: 400 series stainless steel channel steel in the same chromium content, its corrosion resistance is comparable to 300 series stainless steel, and even better than 200 series stainless steel in some cases. Adding trace niobium, titanium, copper, aluminium and other elements can further improve its corrosion resistance.
400 Series Stainless Steel Channel Products Application
Due to its excellent physical and mechanical properties, 400 series stainless steel channel has a wide range of applications in several fields. For example, it is commonly used in automotive exhaust systems, washing machine inner drums, cutlery, kitchen sinks, etc.
