JIS G3125 SPA-H is the Japanese standard for hot-rolled weathering steel plates. Compared with carbon steel, it has superior corrosion resistance, as well as properties such as high temperature resistance, wear resistance, formability, fatigue strength, toughness, and plastic elongation. It can be used in bare conditions or with reduced or simplified coating.
Since SPA-H Corten Steel Plate belongs to weathering steel, a protective patina will form on the surface, giving it a rustic appearance. SPA-H Corten Steel Plate has anti-rust performance, which can reduce the thickness and amount of components, resist atmospheric corrosion, and extend service life.
The chemical composition of JIS G3125 SPA-H Corten Steel Plate mainly consists of basic elements such as carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, and sulfur. The carbon content is controlled below 0.12% to ensure good toughness and weldability. The proper addition of silicon and manganese enhances the strength of the steel.
At the same time, copper, chromium, and a small amount of nickel are added. These weathering elements can form a protective oxide film on the surface, greatly improving resistance to atmospheric corrosion. Its minimum tensile strength is 490 MPa, and its minimum yield strength is 355 MPa.
JIS G3125 SPA-H Corten Steel Plate can be used in various construction projects, economizers, air preheaters, and railway vehicles.
