HEA180 HEB180 S355NL/S355ML Steel Profile H beam
Difference between HEA h metal beam and HEB steel
HEA steel flanges are thinner and lighter, suitable for applications requiring higher economy, such as lightweight structures or secondary load-bearing members. HEB steel flanges and webs are thicker, suitable for applications requiring higher load-bearing capacity and stiffness, such as columns for heavy bridges or high-rise buildings.
S355NL steel h column and S355ML structural h beam belong to the European standard EN 10025, which is usually used for structural steel, and represent the normalized (NL) and thermomechanical rolled (ML) treatments respectively. The strength grade of these materials is usually 355 MPa.
Size comparison
Both HEA180 and HEB180 are European standard wide wing H-beams, but their size designs are different.
HEA180: height 171 mm, width 180 mm, web thickness 6 mm, wing thickness 9.5 mm, weight about 35.5 kg/m.
HEB180: height 180 mm, width 180 mm, web thickness 8.5 mm, wing thickness 14 mm, weight about 51.2-52.2 kg/m.
