HEM220 S355J2 Hot Rolled H-Beam Steel
European standard H-beam HEM220 is a specific size of H-beam, with specifications of 240mm x 226mm (height x width), web thickness of 15.5mm and flange thickness of 26mm. The theoretical weight of this type of H-beam per meter is 157KG, and the material is S355J2 h type steel beam.
S355J2 h type beam is a low-alloy high-strength structural steel produced in accordance with European standard EN 10025-2, where "S" means structural steel, "355" means the yield strength is at least 355MPa, and "J2" indicates the quality level of this steel. V-notch impact test is carried out at -20℃ to ensure low temperature toughness.
Chemical composition of S355J2 h shaped steel beam
Carbon (C): maximum content is about 0.2%.
Silicon (Si): maximum content is about 0.55%.
Manganese (Mn): maximum content is about 1.60%.
Phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S): The maximum content does not exceed 0.025%.
Mechanical properties of S355J2 h-shaped beam: yield strength ≥355MPa; tensile strength ≥490MPa; elongation after fracture ≥18%.
In addition, S355J2 h-shaped iron beam also has good low-temperature impact toughness, and can still maintain a high impact energy value at -20℃ or even lower temperatures, which is very suitable for applications requiring good cold resistance.
Building structure applications of HEM220 steel
Industrial plant: As the main load-bearing components, such as beams and columns, used to support roof and wall structures, it can withstand large loads.
High-rise buildings: In high-rise buildings, HEM220 can be used to make frame structures, providing the necessary strength and rigidity to ensure the safety and stability of the building.
Commercial facilities: Large commercial facilities such as shopping malls and office buildings require large spans, and HEM220 is an ideal choice due to its high lateral stiffness and bending resistance.
Bridge construction: In bridge structures, this steel can be used to manufacture key parts such as piers and main beams to enhance the load-bearing capacity and seismic resistance of bridges.
Petrochemical industry: For environments that require corrosion resistance, such as equipment brackets and piping systems in chemical plants or refineries, HEM220 steel with special anti-corrosion treatment is very suitable.
Shipbuilding: In the shipbuilding industry, HEM220 can be used as support beams and deck covering materials for hull structures to ensure the stability and safety of ship structures.
Other fields: In addition, HEM220 can also be used in large-scale public facility projects that have high requirements for building materials, such as power towers, stadiums, and airport terminals.
