HEB S355J2 is a low alloy high strength structural steel in accordance with European standard EN 10025-223.
HEB: Indicates a specific H-shaped steel profile with parallel flange surfaces and standard dimensions.
S355: Minimum yield strength of 355 MPa at room temperature.
J2: Impact toughness tested at -20°C (Charpy V-notch test).
Equivalent grade: Equivalent to Q345D under Chinese standard (different testing conditions).
Chemical composition of S355J2 h shaped steel beam
Carbon (C): ≤0.20% (balances strength and weldability).
Manganese (Mn): ≤1.60% (improves hardness and toughness).
Silicon (Si): ≤0.55% (improves deoxidation and strength).
Phosphorus (P): ≤0.025% (reduces brittleness).
Sulfur (S): ≤0.025% (improves weldability and machinability).
Copper (Cu): ≤0.55% (optional, for corrosion resistance).

≥345 MPa (thickness 16–40 mm).
