steel h profile W21x101 W21x111 beam structure
W21x101 H-shaped steel
Theoretical weight: about 101 pounds per foot, which is about 150.6 kg/m in metric.
Flange width (bf): about 213 mm
Waist height (d): about 533 mm
Waist thickness (tw): about 8.9 mm
Flange thickness (tf): about 16.3 mm
Material grade: High-strength low-alloy steel such as A36, A572 Gr.50 or A992 is usually used.
A36 h shaped steel is a common carbon steel structural steel with good weldability, processability and mechanical properties, and its yield strength is at least 36,000 psi (about 250 MPa). A572 Gr.50 and A992 provide higher yield strength and better seismic performance.
Application: Suitable for occasions requiring higher load-bearing capacity and good cross-sectional stability, such as large buildings, bridges, heavy equipment foundations, etc.
W21x111 structural steel h beam
Theoretical weight: about 111 pounds per foot, which is about 165.4 kg/m in metric.
Flange width (bf): slightly wider than W21x101.
Waist height (d): also about 533 mm.
Waist thickness (tw): may be slightly thicker than W21x101 to support additional weight.
Flange thickness (tf): may also be thicker to provide stronger support.
Material grade: similar to W21x101, high-strength low-alloy steel such as A36, A572 Gr.50 or A992 can be selected.
Application: Due to its heavier weight and larger cross-sectional size, W21x111 structural h beam can provide higher strength and load-bearing capacity, and is suitable for more demanding structural requirements, such as the core tube of high-rise buildings, long-span bridges or other engineering projects that require extremely high strength.
A36 steel h column is widely used due to its good comprehensive properties, including but not limited to good formability, weldability and moderate strength.
Application of W21x101 beam steel and W21x111 h shaped beam
Application scenarios of W21x101 h type beam
Ordinary commercial buildings: used in locations such as floor beams or secondary beams to provide sufficient support without excessively increasing the deadweight.
Light to medium industrial plants: as part of the frame, supporting lighter to medium load requirements.
Application scenarios of W21x111 h shaped iron beam
High-rise buildings: especially the core tube or main beam part, which require higher strength and stiffness to cope with larger vertical and horizontal loads.
Long-span bridges: used for the main load-bearing components of bridge spans due to their high bending strength and stability.
Heavy industrial plants: such as chemical plants, steel plants, etc., these places usually require very strong structures to support heavy equipment and operations.
Seismically active areas: Due to its higher quality and better mechanical properties, W21x111 is more suitable for seismic design and can better resist seismic forces.
