ASTM A36 Angle Steel Mild Carbon Iron

ASTM A36 is a carbon steel structural material standard developed by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), applicable to steel plates, steel sections (such as angle steel, I-beam, etc.) and bolts.

Angle Steel is a steel with an L-shaped cross-section, and the lengths of the two legs can be equal (equal angle steel) or unequal (unequal angle steel).

• High strength and good weldability: A36 angle steel has a yield strength of 250 MPa (36 ksi) and a tensile strength of 400-550 MPa, suitable for welding and bolting.
• Good plasticity and toughness: Suitable for cold bending, shearing and stamping, suitable for a variety of structural applications.
• Economical: Compared with high-strength alloy steel, A36 is cheaper and more cost-effective.
• Easy to process and install: It can be easily cut, drilled and welded, suitable for on-site construction.

Corrosion resistance (coating required): Bare steel is prone to rust, but corrosion resistance can be improved by galvanizing or painting

• Building structures: used for beam-column connections, support frames, roof trusses, etc.
• Bridge engineering: used as bridge deck support, guardrail support, etc.
• Machinery manufacturing: used for equipment racks, conveyor belt supports, agricultural machinery parts, etc.
