ASTM A572 angle steel is another high strength low alloy (HSLA) niobium vanadium section steel. Due to the small amount of niobium vanadium alloying element, hot rolled A572 steel iron angle has better properties than carbon steel A36 steel metal angle.
A572 structural steel angle has higher strength, such as yield strength and tensile strength, than A36 structural steel angle, in addition, it is easy to weld, form and process.
A572 hot rolled angle has a high strength to weight ratio and therefore has a wide range of applications. Because it contains no copper (which helps resist corrosion), A572 structural steel angles are typically hot-dip galvanized or pre-painted.
