S355J2 Hot Rolled Steel Angles (RSA)
1. Definition and Standard
S355J2 is a low-alloy high-strength structural steel under the European standard EN10025 series. The "S" in the grade stands for structural steel, "355" means the yield strength is ≥355MPa, and "J2" means it has passed the -20℃ low-temperature impact energy test. Hot-rolled equal-leg angle steel (RSA) is usually delivered directly in the hot-rolled state, and can also be controlled rolled or normalized according to demand.
2. Mechanical properties
Yield strength: ≥355MPa; Tensile strength: 470–630MPa; Low-temperature toughness: Good impact resistance is maintained at -20℃ environment; Weldability: Low carbon design (C≤0.24%) and low sulfur and phosphorus content (P≤0.025%, S≤0.025%) ensure excellent welding performance.

4. Dimensional tolerance
Thickness tolerance: Class A (conventional delivery) to Class D (symmetrical tolerance) according to nominal thickness; Width deviation:
≤2000mm: +15mm;
2000–3000mm: +20mm;
3000mm: +30mm4;
Length deviation:
4000–6000mm: +30mm;
6000–8000mm: +40mm;
8000mm: +50mm4.
5. Application areas
S355J2 hot-rolled angle steel is widely used in:
Building structure: high-rise building frame, supporting components;
Bridge engineering: main beam, truss and other load-bearing components;

6. Supporting process and inspection
Production process: primary refining → refining → continuous casting → rolling → cutting → performance inspection;
Inspection requirements: must pass Z15/Z25/Z35 thickness direction performance test to ensure anti-laminar tearing ability.
