SS400 steel and Q235 steel
SS400 is basically equivalent to China's Q235 (equivalent to Q235A). However, there are differences in specific indicators, Q235 has the requirement for chemical composition of C, Si, Mn, S, P, but SS400 only asked S, P's composition less than 0.050. The yield strength of Q235 is greater than 235MPa, and the yield strength of SS400 is 245MPa. SS400 (steel for general structure) means that the general structural plate whose tensile strength is greater than 400MPa. Q235 means that the ordinary structual steel plate whose yield point is greater than 235MPa. SS400 standard number is JIS G3101. Q235 standard number is GB/T700.
