• Excellent corrosion resistance: 254SMO flat steel is able to perform well in a wide range of corrosive environments, including pitting resistance (PREN ≥ 43) and good resistance to stress corrosion in conditions such as seawater, aeration, the presence of crevices, and low-speed scouring. It is particularly well suited to perform in environments containing chloride ions, such as seawater or in the chemical industry where chlorides are present.
• High strength and mechanical properties: due to its high content of chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen, 254SMO flat steel has high yield strength and tensile strength, and maintains good mechanical properties even in high temperature and high pressure environments. Its tensile strength can reach more than 620MPa, and the yield strength can reach more than 310MPa, much higher than the general stainless steel materials.
• Good welding performance: 254SMO flat steel has good welding performance, high strength and no cracks in the welded joints, and can still maintain excellent corrosion resistance and high temperature strength after welding.
