SS400 Flat Steel
SS400 Flat Steel Products Production Process
Raw material preparation: firstly, iron ore is extracted from the mine, and after crushing, grinding, magnetic separation and other processes, impurities are removed to get high-grade iron ore concentrate. Then the coal is refined at high temperature to get coke, which is the main fuel in the blast furnace smelting process.
Blast Furnace Smelting: Raw materials such as iron ore concentrate, flux and coke are added to the blast furnace to reduce the iron ore to liquid molten iron under high temperature and reducing atmosphere. The molten iron coming out of the blast furnace is treated with desulfurization and slag removal to improve the purity of the molten iron.
Steelmaking: Add the treated molten iron into the converter or electric furnace, remove the impurities in the molten iron by blowing oxygen, adding carbon, adding alloy, etc., and add the required elements, so as to get the molten steel with qualified composition. Deoxidizing, deslagging and adjusting the composition of the molten steel to improve the quality of the molten steel.
Continuous casting: Steel is injected into the crystallizer or continuous casting machine and cooled into billets. This process ensures high quality and continuity of the steel and reduces defects and scrap in the production process.
Rolling: The continuous cast billet is passed through a series of rolling mills for plastic processing to form the desired flat steel shape and size. The rolling process usually consists of two phases, open billet, which is straightened and reduced using high pressure water or compressed air, and finished rolled products, which are further adjusted for flat steel thickness and surface quality.
Cooling and straightening: After rolling, the flat steel is cooled and straightened to eliminate internal stresses and to improve the straightness and precision of the flat steel.
Finishing: This includes cutting, straightening, surface treatment and marking of flat steel to ensure that it meets specifications and quality requirements. It also includes checking the internal quality and dimensional accuracy of the flat steel to ensure that it meets the customer's requirements.
SS400 Flat Steel Products Components
The main chemical composition ofSS400 flat steelincludes carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), sulfur (S) and phosphorus (P).
Carbon (C): the content is usually between 0.05% and 0.20%, is the main factor affecting the performance of steel plate.
Silicon (Si): content generally does not exceed 0.35%, helps to improve the strength and toughness of the steel plate.
Manganese (Mn): the content is roughly between 1.40% and 1.75%, the increase of silicon and manganese can improve the strength and toughness of steel plate.
Sulfur (S): the content usually does not exceed 0.05%, as an impurity element, its content needs to be controlled within a certain range to ensure the performance of the steel plate.
Phosphorus (P): the content usually does not exceed 0.045%, as an impurity element, its content also needs to be controlled within a certain range to ensure the performance of the steel plate.
