A572GR50 W6x9 W6x12 W6x15 wide flange h beam
W-beams
W-beams are I-beams (Wide Flange Beams) in the US standard, also known as H-beams or I-beams, used in various building and structural applications.
W6 h beam structure: indicates that the height of the steel is 6 inches (about 152.4 mm).
x9, x12, x15: represent the weight of 9 pounds, 12 pounds and 15 pounds per foot of length, respectively, which directly affects the thickness and strength of the steel.
Features of A572Gr50 h type beam
Mechanical properties: A572Gr50 material h beam has a high yield strength (at least 50,000 psi or 345 MPa), as well as good tensile strength and ductility.
Weldability: The chemical composition has been optimized to help reduce the risk of cracking during welding, showing excellent welding performance.
Corrosion resistance: Although A572Gr50 steel beam h itself does not have particularly high corrosion resistance, the use of coatings or other protective measures under appropriate conditions can enhance its durability.
Characteristics of ASTM H Profile Steel
W6x9 w flange beam: The lightest option, suitable for small projects that do not require extremely high load-bearing capacity or as auxiliary support.
W6x12 wide flange beam: Heavier than the W6x9 h beam wide flange, it can provide higher strength and stability and is suitable for medium-sized structural needs.
W6x15 w shape beam: The heaviest of the three models, it provides the highest strength and load-bearing capacity and is suitable for heavy structural projects.
