Hot Rolled Section Steel H Beam SM490

SM490 is specified by the Japanese JIS G3106 standard, where "SM" stands for "structural steel for welding" and "490" indicates that the minimum tensile strength of the steel is 490MPa. It is produced by hot rolling process, heating the steel billet to a high temperature and rolling it into the required H-section, which can improve the mechanical properties and processing properties of the steel.

Mechanical properties
Yield strength: The yield strength of SM490 hot-rolled H-beam is ≥325MPa, which is higher than the yield strength of general carbon structural steel, allowing it to withstand greater loads.
Tensile strength: The tensile strength is 490-610MPa, providing good strength and durability for the steel.
Elongation: The elongation is ≥20%, with good plasticity, and can withstand certain deformation without breaking.
Impact toughness: SM490 structural H-beam has good impact toughness and can resist impact loads well. At room temperature (20℃), the impact energy is ≥27J.

SM490 hot-rolled structural H-beam has various specifications. The common height (H) is 100mm~900mm, the flange width (B) is 100mm~300mm, the web thickness (t1) is 5mm~16mm, the flange thickness (t2) is 7mm~28mm, and the length is usually 6~16m.
