SS400 belongs to JIS G3101 specifications of rolled steels for general structure.A36 come from specification ASTM A36/A36M for carbon structural steels.This meas these SS400 and A36 steels both used in mild structural industry,have the same applications.The most important comparasion is main elements chemical compositions and mechanical properties as below table,the datasheet appear SS00 equivalent to A36.
For rolling types,both carbon steel A36 and SS400 steel can be supplied as hot rolled steel plates,hot rolled steel coils,steel angles,steel beams,steel channels,square hollow sections,rectangular hollow sections,welded pipes,etc.
