Products Description
A283 Grade A carbon steel plate is a low to intermediate strength structural carbon steel, with a minimum yield strength of 165 MPa and a tensile strength range of 310–415 MPa under room temperature rolling conditions. Its elongation is typically 20–25%, offering good plasticity and toughness.
Compared with the other three grades in the A283 series, Grade A has the lowest carbon content, which provides excellent weldability, ease of fabrication, and good structural stability.
The steel is produced via open-hearth, basic-oxygen, or electric furnace processes and undergoes strict chemical composition and mechanical property testing to ensure compliance with the standard.
Due to its moderate strength and excellent workability, A283 Grade A is widely used in general building structures, bridges, storage tanks, workshops, machinery components, and other projects requiring economical carbon steel materials.
