ASTM A533 Boiler steel plate Products Description
ASTM A533 boiler vessel plate is manganese-molybdenum and manganese-molybdenum-nickel alloy steel plate suitable for use in welded pressure vessels.ASTM A533 boiler vessel steel is available in five different strength grades: Class A, B, C, D, and E. The steel is available in three grades: Grade 1, 2, and 3. Each class has three further grades: Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3. All ASTM A533 boiler vessel plate has a minimum thickness of 0.25 inches, or 6.5mm.
The upper thickness limit for Class 1 and Class 2 ASTM A533 boiler vessel plate is limited only by the ability of the chemical composition to meet specified mechanical property requirements. However, it is now common to limit the thickness of Class A/B/C/D ASTM A533 boiler plate to 12 inches, i.e., 300 mm, and to limit the thickness of Class E ASTM A533 boiler plate to 7 inches, i.e., 180 mm.
For Class 3 ASTM A533 boiler plate, the maximum thickness of Class A/B/C/D plate is 2.5 inches, or 65 mm, and the thickness of Class E plate is up to 2 inches, or 50 mm.
ASTM A533 boiler vessel plate has excellent low-temperature impact toughness and mechanical properties, usually used in low-temperature conditions.ASTM A533 boiler vessel plate is widely used in low-temperature separation and processing, liquefied gas storage and other fields, such as large-scale vacuum low-temperature liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage equipment. Meanwhile, ASTM A533 boiler vessel plate is commonly used in the banded area of nuclear reactor vessels, where material properties may be affected by strong radiation.
