ASTM A387 boiler vessel plate is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel plate suitable for welding boilers and pressure vessels for high temperature.ASTM A387 pressure vessel steel is classified into 5, 9, 11, 12, 22, 91 and other grades according to the alloying elements it contains.
In addition to 21L, 22L, 91 and 911, each grade of ASTM A387 boiler steel plate according to its heat treatment and have two tensile strength categories: class 1 and class 2. ASTM A387 steel boiler plate thickness is limited only by the ability of the chemical composition to meet the specified mechanical properties.
The molybdenum content of ASTM A387 pressure vessel steel plate improves its tensile strength at elevated temperatures and provides high resistance to oxidation and corrosion through increased lattice strain.ASTM A387 boiler steel is ideal for use in heat-resistant pressure vessels and sour gas environments.
