NM 500 steel plate Products Description

 

NM 500 is a wear-resistant steel with a nominal NMness of 500 HBW. Its high strength, toughness and low carbon equivalent ensure that it is suitable for welding and bending applications. This material provides excellent wear resistance in the toughest working environments and is ideal for heavy construction machinery.

 

NM 500 material consists of mild steel with a carbon content of up to 0.25%. It also contains alloying elements such as chromium and nickel to increase NMness, toughness and strength. NM 500 plate has a chromium and nickel content of 1.5% and 1% respectively. The plate is also rich in molybdenum, boron and titanium, which enhance its wear and tear resistance.
