Weathering steel is made of ordinary carbon steel with a small amount of copper, nickel and other corrosion-resistant elements added. It has the characteristics of high-quality steel such as strength, plasticity, shaping, welding and cutting, abrasion, and high temperature. The weather resistance is 2 to 8 times that of ordinary carbon steel. , the paintability is 1.5~10 times that of ordinary carbon steel. At the same time, it has rust resistance, making the components anti-corrosion, extending life, thinning and reducing consumption, saving labor and energy, etc.
Weathering principle: After adding weathering elements such as phosphorus, copper, chromium, and nickel to steel, the steel forms a dense and highly adherent oxide layer between the rust layer and the matrix. This special dense oxide layer has stable and uniform properties. The natural rust-red color can prevent oxygen and water in the atmosphere from penetrating into the substrate and protect the substrate under the rust layer to slow down its corrosion rate.
