H Sections HEA240 HEB240 Q355D/S355J2 Beam Steel
Q355D h-shaped beam and S355J2 h-shaped iron beam are two European standard H-shaped steels with different material standards, corresponding to different chemical compositions and mechanical properties.
The H-shaped steels of their materials have different mechanical properties, but in terms of size specifications, the sizes of HEA240 and HEB240 are fixed and are not affected by material changes.
Q355D h-beam section and S355J2 H-section steel beam are steel materials under two different standards, and there are some differences in their chemical compositions.
Q355D h shape metal (Chinese standard GB/T 1591-2018) Chemical composition
Carbon (C): ≤0.20%
Manganese (Mn): 1.0%-1.6%
Silicon (Si): ≤0.55%
Sulfur (S): ≤0.045%
Phosphorus (P): ≤0.045%
Lead (Pb): ≤0.035%
S355J2 steel h profile (European standard EN 10025-2) Chemical composition
Carbon (C): ≤0.22%
Manganese (Mn): 1.1%-1.6%
Silicon (Si): ≤0.55%
Sulfur (S): ≤0.045%
Phosphorus (P): ≤0.045%
Lead (Pb): Usually no specific content limit is specified
The upper limit of carbon content of S355J2 h steel profile is slightly higher than that of Q355D. In addition, S355J2 may have more specific requirements for the content of certain alloying elements, especially for elements that ensure low-temperature impact toughness.
The "J2" in S355J2 h beam profile means that the impact toughness value at -20°C should meet specific requirements and have good impact performance in low-temperature environments. The "D" in Q355D means it is suitable for low-temperature environments.
