- High Strength and Good Toughness: 42CrMo I-beam has high strength and good toughness, with a yield strength of about 1080-1280 MPa and a tensile strength of about 1220-1470 MPa after proper heat treatment. This enables it to withstand large loads and shock loads.
- Good NMenability and resistance to multiple impacts: 42CrMo I-beam has good NMenability, no obvious tempering brittleness, high fatigue limit and resistance to multiple impacts after tempering treatment, and good low-temperature impact toughness.
- Wear resistance and high temperature resistance: due to the moderate amount of chromium, 42CrMo I-beam steel has good wear resistance and is suitable for some parts that require frequent movement and wear. In addition, it has good high temperature resistance and can operate at higher temperatures without losing its strength and NMness.
- Chemical composition: 42CrMo I-beam steel is mainly composed of carbon, chromium, molybdenum, manganese and silicon, of which the carbon content is between 0.38% and 0.45%, chromium content is between 0.90% and 1.20%, and molybdenum content is between 0.15% and 0.25%.

42CrMo I-beam is widely used in the manufacture of large and heavy parts, such as automobile transmissions, machine parts, oil well tools, bearings, etc.. Because of its high strength and good toughness, it is particularly suitable for bearing impact, bending and twisting and high load machine parts, such as rolling mill herringbone gear, crankshaft, hammer rod, connecting rod, fasteners, turbine engine spindles, axles and so on.
