Product Description

1.What is a round bar called?
The most common shapes are round bar (also called rod), rectangular bar (including square bar, the special case of equal sides), and hexagonal bar (usually called hex bar for short). Tube and pipe are similar, but have hollow centers and are traditionally not called "bar" in industrial usage.
2.What is the difference between a round bar and a rod?
Round bars often possess higher tensile strength and hardness, making them suitable for load-bearing applications. Meanwhile, rods offer increased flexibility and are more malleable, catering to intricate designs and bending requirements.
3.What size is a round bar?
Round bars can range from as thin as 1/8 inch (3mm) in diameter to more than 12 inches (300mm) for specialized uses. The most common sizes usually fall between 1/4 inch (6mm) and 2 inches (50mm).
4.Which is better, SS or MS?
Fabrication. As chrome is a hard alloy, stainless steels are much more impact resistant compared to mild steel and (although relatively easy to fabricate) are not as easy to fabricate as mild steel. Mild steel is much more malleable compared to stainless and so is used a lot in general fabrication.
5.How strong is a round bar?
Strength and Durability: Round bars exhibit excellent tensile and compressive strength, making them suitable for high-stress applications. Rotational Applications: Their cylindrical shape allows them to excel in applications involving rotation, such as axles, shafts, and other machinery components.
