1. What is U channel steel used for?
Steel channel is often used in conjunction with I-beams and other steel products to build commercial and industrial buildings, such as warehouses. It can act as girts, studs, braces, joists or other structural components where the added strength of an I-beam is not necessary.
2.What is the difference between C channel and U channel?
Steel channel has been classified into "C" and "U" types depending on its outlook. Hence there are two standards to show the channel dimensions - UPE & UPN. UPE is for the C channel steel with parallel flanges while UPN for the U channel steel with tapered flanges.
3.What is the specification of stainless steel 304?
Stainless steel 304 has good resistance to oxidation in intermittent service up to 870°C and in continuous service to 925°C. However, continuous use at 425-860°C is not recommended if corrosion resistance in water is required. In this instance 304L is recommended due to its resistance to carbide precipitation.
4.Is 304 a good grade of stainless steel?
304 stainless steel is highly resistant to atmospheric corrosion, water, and many chemicals. Along with its ease of fabrication, 304 stainless steel is a popular choice for metal castings for applications such as pump & valve components, food processing equipment, bearings, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
5.What are the disadvantages of 304 stainless steel?
It is susceptible to corrosion from certain chemicals and environments. It can be challenging to weld 304 stainless steel. It is more expensive than other types of stainless steel. It is not as heat resistant as other types of stainless steel.
