Our high-quality Q235, SS400, and A36 GB angle steel is a series of hot-rolled carbon structural steel profiles characterized by their L-shaped cross-section, which provides excellent structural stability and load-bearing capacity for a wide range of industrial and construction applications. As a core product available for bulk supply, it strictly complies with the Chinese National Standard (GB) and is manufactured with premium mild steel raw materials, ensuring consistent quality, reliable performance, and cost-effectiveness that meets the diverse needs of global customers.
Angle steel, commonly referred to as angle iron, is a simple-section steel product with two legs (flanges) connected at a 90-degree right angle, which can be further classified into equal-sided and unequal-sided types based on the length of the legs. Our Q235, SS400, and A36 GB angle steel covers both types, with standard leg lengths ranging from 20mm to 200mm and thicknesses from 3mm to 20mm, and standard delivery lengths of 6m, 9m, or 12m, with custom cutting services available to accommodate specific project requirements. The hot-rolling manufacturing process, which involves heating the steel billet above the recrystallization temperature before shaping, enhances the material's grain structure, resulting in uniform dimensions, smooth surface finish, and improved ductility that facilitates easy cutting, bending, and welding without compromising structural integrity.
The three core steel grades-Q235, SS400, and A36-are all high-quality mild carbon steels, each adhering to respective regional standards while maintaining complementary mechanical properties suitable for interchangeable use in many low to medium-load applications. Q235, compliant with GB/T 700, is a Chinese standard carbon structural steel with a minimum yield strength of 235MPa and a tensile strength range of 375-500MPa, featuring a maximum carbon content of 0.22% and excellent weldability, making it widely used in domestic construction and general mechanical manufacturing. SS400, following the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS G 3101), has a minimum yield strength of 245MPa and a tensile strength range of 400-510MPa, with flexible chemical composition that emphasizes weldability and suitability for general structural tasks, particularly prevalent in Japanese industrial projects. A36, adhering to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM A36/A36M), boasts a minimum yield strength of 250MPa and a tensile strength range of 400-550MPa, with a maximum carbon content of 0.25% and stricter dimensional tolerances, offering slightly higher strength and widely applied in North American construction, bridges, and heavy-duty frameworks.
In terms of chemical composition, all three grades are low-carbon steels with controlled levels of harmful impurities (phosphorus ≤0.05% and sulfur ≤0.05%) to avoid brittleness and ensure material purity. Q235 contains a maximum of 0.35% silicon and 0.045% phosphorus, while A36 includes up to 0.40% silicon and 0.20% copper to enhance corrosion resistance, and SS400 has no specific carbon content limitation, providing flexibility in application scenarios. These chemical characteristics, combined with their mechanical properties, ensure that the angle steel exhibits good impact toughness, moderate hardness, and superior formability, enabling it to withstand.
