This document presents a comprehensive introduction to hot-rolled carbon steel I-beams and H-beams, core structural materials widely applied in civil engineering, industrial construction, and infrastructure projects. These profiles are manufactured through the hot-rolling process, endowing them with excellent mechanical properties, stable structural performance, and high processability, making them indispensable load-bearing components in modern engineering scenarios.

The product range encompasses multiple mainstream grades, including China's Q235, Q355B, and the ASTM A36 standard from the United States, catering to diverse project requirements across global markets. Each grade exhibits distinct material characteristics tailored to different application scenarios, ensuring scientific selection and cost-effectiveness in engineering design.

Q235 carbon steel, a conventional structural grade, features moderate carbon content and good comprehensiveness. Its tensile strength typically ranges from 370 MPa to 500 MPa, with excellent plasticity and toughness. This grade facilitates welding, cutting, and on-site processing, making it suitable for general structural projects with medium load requirements, such as general industrial workshops, multi-story residential buildings, and bridge auxiliary structures. It balances performance and cost effectively, meeting the basic load-bearing needs of most ordinary construction projects.

Q355B, a low-alloy high-strength structural steel, represents an upgraded version compared to Q235. With a minimum yield strength of 355 MPa-approximately 50% higher than that of Q235-it offers superior load-bearing capacity and structural stability. This grade maintains excellent weldability and low-temperature toughness, with stable performance in environments down to -20°C. It is ideal for large-span structures, heavy-load equipment foundations, and high-rise buildings, effectively reducing structural self-weight and material consumption while enhancing engineering safety reserves.

ASTM A36 carbon steel, a mainstream standard in the North American market, possesses a yield strength of not less than 250 MPa and a tensile strength of 400 MPa to 550 MPa. It is characterized by good ductility, weldability, and formability, complying with strict American quality and safety standards. Widely used in steel structure projects in North America, it is suitable for steel frames, bridge structures, and industrial equipment supports, ensuring reliable structural performance through standardized design and construction.

Both I-beams and H-beams are hot-rolled profiles with specific cross-sectional shapes. The I-beam features flanges with unequal thickness, with the inner side having a slope, generally suitable for axial compression of columns and diagonal bracing components; while the H-beam has parallel inner and outer surfaces of the flange, with a more reasonable section stress distribution and higher section modulus. Compared to traditional I-beams, H-beams offer advantages in strength-to-weight ratio and structural efficiency, capable of bearing larger loads with lighter weight, significantly reducing engineering costs and structural self-weight.

The hot-rolling process imparts dense internal structure and uniform mechanical properties to the steel profiles. During the hot-rolling process, the metal grains are refined, and the internal defects are compressed and healed, endowing the products with stable dimensional accuracy and mechanical performance. The surface of the profiles is smooth, and the specifications are standardized, meeting the requirements of large-scale industrial production and engineering batch applications. Meanwhile, hot-rolled steel structures exhibit excellent recyclability, with a scrap recycling rate of up to 90%, aligning with the concept of green and sustainable construction.

These carbon steel I-beams and H-beams support customized processing according to project requirements, including cutting, drilling, welding, and anti-corrosion coating treatments. They can be matched with various building materials and structural systems, adapting to complex engineering designs such as prefabricated buildings, steel structure workshops, highway bridges, and power station facilities. With strict quality control throughout the production process-from raw material inspection and hot-rolling forming to finished product detection-each batch of products ensures compliance with relevant national and international standards, providing reliable structural support for global engineering projects.
