Rust prevention measures for round steel include:
1) Environmental control: Warehouses maintain relative humidity <60% and good ventilation to reduce moisture-dehumidifiers are used in rainy seasons;
2) Physical protection: Hot-rolled round steel is stored on elevated steel racks (100mm above ground) to avoid contact with water/soil; cold-drawn round steel is wrapped in vapor-corrosion inhibitor (VCI) film, which releases chemicals to block rust;
3) Coatings: For long-term storage (≥6 months), hot-rolled round steel is coated with anti-rust oil (mineral oil-based) and wrapped in waterproof paper; 4) Regular maintenance: Weekly inspections check for rust spots-affected areas are cleaned with sandpaper and re-coated.
Outdoor temporary storage uses waterproof tarpaulins and drainage systems to prevent water accumulation.
