An MTC is a legal document certifying the material's compliance with the order. A 3.1 Certificate (per EN 10204) is issued by the manufacturer and includes specific test results. It contains:

 

Supplier and Customer Information.

Material Identification: Grade (e.g., 1.7225), condition (e.g., +QT), dimensions.

Traceability Data: Heat Number, Batch/Lot Number.

Chemical Analysis: Actual results from spectrographic analysis of the heat.

Mechanical Properties: Actual test results (Rm, Rp0.2, A, Z, impact values, hardness) from samples taken from the batch and heat-treated with it.
