AISI 4140 4130 Solid Carbon Alloy Round Steel Bar
Product Description
AISI 4140
High-Tensile Alloy Steel Round bar 4140 Hot Rolled Steel
Grade: AISI 4140, 4130, 5140, 5120
Alloy structural steel: 4140
Executive standard: ASTM A29/A29M-04 4140 steel. This steel has good workability, small processing deformation, and good fatigue resistance. It is a medium hardenable steel. After heat treatment, 4140 has good strength and good comprehensive mechanical properties, good manufacturability, and yield high.
The highest service temperature is 427 degrees Celsius, 4140 strength, hardenability, good toughness, small deformation during quenching, high creep strength and enduring strength at high temperature.
It is used to manufacture forgings that require higher strength and larger quenched and tempered section than 35CrMo steel, such as large gears for locomotive traction, supercharger transmission gears, rear axles, connecting rods and spring clips that are heavily loaded, and can also be used Drill pipe joints and fishing tools for oil deep wells below 2000m, and can be used for molds of bending machines.

1.What is alloy steel used for?
Alloy steel is a mix of steel with other elements for improved strength and resistance. It has two types: high-alloy (greater corrosion resistance) and low-alloy (versatile and strong), used in construction, machinery, and automotive industries.
2.Which is better aluminum or alloy steel barbells?
Steel is a lot stronger than aluminum. It has higher tensile, compressive, and yield strength, meaning it can withstand more pulling, squeezing, and bending before breaking or deforming
3.Is alloy steel good quality?
The unique properties of alloy steel, including its superior yield and tensile strength, outstanding resistance to rust and oxidation, and durability in heavy-duty applications, make it an invaluable choice for projects requiring exceptional performance
4.Is alloy steel regular steel?
Steel alloys build on the basic carbon steel structure and add other elements like sulfur, manganese, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and other alloying elements. These are added to change, add, or subtract metal properties like machinability, tensile strength, hardness, corrosion resistance, etc.
5.Does alloy steel rust easily?
Yes, but only if that alloy is made with ferrous metals. It is important to understand what an alloy is; simply a combination of two or more metals. The presence of iron is the determining factor in whether or not a metal will rust, regardless if it is an alloy or not.
