Nickel Alloy Steel Products Description
Nickel alloy 600 is a unique nickel-chromium alloy known for its high-temperature oxidation resistance. The alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in corrosive environments, with resistance to dry chlorine gas up to 538°C. In addition, it has excellent oxidation resistance (up to 1093°C) and high resistance to carburization, and it performs well in high-temperature nitriding environments.
It is versatile and can be used in a wide range of applications from low temperatures to temperatures as high as 1093°C (2000°F). With its high nickel content (minimum 72% nickel) and chromium content, Nickel Alloy 600 is characterized by good oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures; resistance to corrosion by organic and inorganic compounds; resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking; good compatibility with most alkaline solutions and sulfur compounds; and a reduced rate of attack by chlorine or hydrogen chloride.
Because of its versatility and its status as a standard engineering material for applications requiring corrosion and heat resistance, Nickel Alloy 600 is used by many different key industries in their applications.It is an excellent choice for nuclear reactor vessels and heat exchanger tubing; chemical processing equipment; heat treat furnace components and fixtures; gas turbine components, including jet engines; electronic parts; and more.
