ASTM1018 Round Bar Products Composition
The main chemical composition of ASTM1018 round bar includes elements such as carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P) and sulphur (S). Its chemical composition range is as follows:
- Carbon (C): 0.15-0.25 per cent
- Silicon (Si): 0.10-0.35 per cent
- Manganese (Mn): 0.60-0.90 per cent
- Phosphorus (P): ≤ 0.040%
- Sulphur (S): ≤0.050%
- Copper (Cu): 0.25-0.50 per cent
- Nickel (Ni): 0.20-0.50 per cent
- Chromium (Cr): ≤0.15 per cent
- Molybdenum (Mo): ≤0.10 per cent
ASTM1018 Round Bar Products Production Process
The heat treatment process of ASTM1018 round bar mainly includes annealing, normalising and quenching:
- Annealing: the steel is heated to 870-900 ℃, held for a period of time and then slowly cooled to room temperature, the annealed steel has good plasticity and malleability.
- Normalising: the annealed steel is heated to 870-900°C again, held for a period of time and then air-cooled to room temperature, the normalised steel has high NMness and strength.
- Quenching: the steel after normalising is heated to 800-850 ℃, hold for a period of time and then quickly cooled to room temperature, quenched steel has a high NMness and high strength
