Flat Metal Rod Product Description
Flat steel refers to a processed metal produced by melting and stretching under the action of external forces. This force is used to manufacture metal parts in the form of sheets, strips or tinplates. These steels have a flat surface and are easily treated with zinc, which helps prevent corrosion of the substrate.
Carbon rolled flat steel is manufactured by rolling, which is performed by starting and ending with a material with a rectangular cross-section. The metal is placed between two work rolls, moving in opposite directions. The thickness of the final product is typically less than 6 mm. When a thick plate in the form of a press is used instead of a roller to shape the metal, the process is called forming.
The many uses of this metallic material depend on how it is processed. Primary applications range from house frames to mechanical parts and even railways and appliances when combined with other metals.
