AS3678-300 belongs to the Australian standard low-alloy high-strength steel, "AS3678" is the Australian standard number of the steel, "300" is the same as the national standard low-alloy structural steel, indicating the yield strength of steel plate value, the unit is "MPa".

 

AS3678-300 is mainly used in buildings that require low to medium strength carbon steel, such as floor slabs and bridge construction, etc.

 

AS3678-300 structural steel beam is produced by hot rolling, with a nominal small yield strength of 300MPa and good ductility.

 

AS3678-300 steel processing method: generally used flame cutting processing method, but if the requirements are high can be used plasma cutting method.

 

Mechanical properties of AS3678-300 steel: yield strength ≥250MPa; tensile strength ≥410MPa; elongation 21%.

 

AS3678-350 is a low alloy high-strength steel, the implementation of the Australian Standard AS3678-1996. 350" in AS3678-350 represents the yield strength.

 

AS3678-350 performance requirements
(1)High strength: generally its yield strength is more than 300MPa.
(2) high toughness: the requirements of the elongation of 15% ~ 20%, room temperature impact toughness greater than 600kJ / m ~ 800k / m. For large welded components, the requirements of a high fracture toughness
(3) good welding performance and cold forming properties
(4) low cold brittle transition temperature
(5) good corrosion resistance.

 

AS3678-350 alloy steel composition characteristics
(1)AS3678-350 beam h low carbon: due to the high requirements of toughness, weldability and cold forming properties, its carbon content does not exceed 0.20%.
(2) AS3678-350 beam steel adds manganese-based alloying elements.
(3) AS3678-350 steel beams add niobium, titanium or vanadium and other co-elements: a small amount of niobium, titanium or vanadium in the steel to form a fine carbide or carbon-nitride, is conducive to obtaining a fine ferrite grain and improve the strength and toughness of steel.

 

In addition, adding a small amount of copper (≤ 0.4%) and phosphorus (0.1% or so), etc., can improve corrosion resistance. Add a small amount of rare earth elements, can be desulfurized, de-gassing, so that the steel purification, improve toughness and process performance.
