Product introduction of W33x318 W33x354 h section steel
W33x318 steel h beam: height 33 inches (838mm), unit weight 318 pounds/foot (about 473kg/m) .
W33x354 h beam: height 33 inches (838mm), unit weight 354 pounds/foot (about 526kg/m) .
W33x318 h shaped beam section parameters: web thickness is about 25.4mm, flange thickness is about 35.8mm, and flange width is about 320mm .
W33x354 structural steel h beam section parameters: web thickness is about 28.6mm, flange thickness is about 40.2mm, and flange width is about 325mm .
Core difference: W33x354 has thicker flanges and webs, the moment of inertia (I value) is increased by about 20%, and the bending resistance is significantly enhanced.
Common materials for W33x318 W33x354 h-shaped steel
A36 carbon steel: yield strength ≥250MPa, suitable for conventional building structures.
A572 GR50 low alloy steel: yield strength ≥345MPa, used in heavy industrial scenarios (such as port machinery bases).
A992 structural steel: tensile strength ≥450MPa, excellent comprehensive performance, mostly used for super high-rise building main beams.
Dynamic load: When W33x354 uses A572 GR50 material, it can withstand an impact load of ≥500kN/m².
Weather resistance: If used with A588 weathering steel (containing Cu and Cr elements), the need for anti-corrosion coating can be reduced.
W33x318 W33x354 steel h column applications
Architectural field
W33x318 h section beam: secondary beams of high-rise buildings, steel structure platform supports (A36 material is preferred for economic efficiency); local reinforcement of bridges (need to be used with A588 weathering steel).
W33x354 h beam structure: main support of super-high-rise core tubes, main beams of large-span plant buildings (A992 material improves structural stability); steel structure domes of nuclear power plants (need to pass ASME certification).
Industrial field
W33x318: ship deck beams, vehicle chassis frames (balance between lightness and strength).
W33x354: Port crane rail beam, metallurgical blast furnace support (bearing extreme loads and thermal stress); mine conveyor support (need to withstand high-frequency vibration).
W33x318 W33x354 structural h beam welding process
W33x318 h type beam: Direct welding with conventional low-hydrogen electrodes (such as E7018), no preheating required for plate thickness ≤25mm .
W33x354 h type steel beam: Plate thickness >25mm needs to be preheated to 150-200℃, and high-toughness welding materials (such as E10018) .
