High Strength Low Alloy Hsla Steel Product Description
HY-100 high strength steel plate is a low alloy steel with high tensile strength and high yield strength. HY-100 high tensile steel plate was developed for naval applications, especially to develop pressure shells for the US nuclear submarine project. It is still used today. Used in many naval applications and widely used in the petrochemical industry due to its strength to weight ratio.
HY-100 high strength steel sheet has high yield strength (strength to resist permanent deformation). HY-100 high strength structural steel has a minimum tensile strength of 100ksi.
HY 100 high tensile alloy steel is generally considered non-weldable. HY-100 high tensile steel sheet also has extremely high impact strength. This combination makes HY 100 high strength low alloy steel plate unique among steels.
