H-beam is a new type of steel for economic construction. Method for Representation of Hot - Rolled H - Section Steel. H-beam is divided into wide flange H-beam (HK), narrow flange H-shaped steel (HZ) and H-shaped steel pile (HU) three categories.
The height of H × width B × web thickness t1 × wing thickness t2, such as the H-beam Q235B, SS400 200 × 200 × 8 × 12 200mm wide and 200mm wide web thickness of 8mm, wing thickness of 12mm Wide flange H-beam grades Q235BQ, 345B or SS400.
Our hot-rolled H Section Beams, available in globally recognized steel grades including ASTM A572, ASTM A36, SS400, and S355, are engineered as high-performance construction steel profiles tailored for column and beam applications. Designed to meet the diverse load-bearing and structural demands of modern construction-from commercial skyscrapers to industrial facilities-these H Section Beams combine material versatility, mechanical excellence, and manufacturing precision, making them indispensable for building stable, durable, and efficient structural frameworks.
Each steel grade within our portfolio offers unique attributes optimized for construction scenarios:
ASTM A36: A foundational carbon structural steel grade with a minimum yield strength of 250 MPa and tensile strength of 400-550 MPa. Its low carbon content (0.25-0.29%) ensures exceptional weldability and formability, ideal for general column and beam applications where balanced strength and workability are critical.
ASTM A572: A high-strength low-alloy (HSLA) steel grade (primarily Grade 50, with options for Grades 55/60/65) featuring a minimum yield strength of 345 MPa (Grade 50) and enhanced corrosion resistance. Designed for high-stress columns and long-span beams, it reduces structural weight by 15-20% compared to ASTM A36 while maintaining superior load-bearing capacity.
SS400: A JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) carbon steel grade with a minimum yield strength of 245 MPa and tensile strength of 400-510 MPa. Its excellent ductility (minimum 21% elongation) and cost-effectiveness make it a preferred choice for residential and mid-rise commercial columns/beams.
S355: A European EN standard structural steel grade (including S355JR/JO/J2 variants) with a minimum yield strength of 355 MPa and tensile strength of 470-630 MPa. Offering enhanced low-temperature toughness (especially S355J2), it excels in harsh-climate construction projects, such as bridges and outdoor industrial columns.
All our H Section Beams are manufactured via advanced hot-rolling processes, a technique that defines their structural integrity and performance. Steel billets are heated to temperatures exceeding 1000°C, then extruded through precision-calibrated rollers to form the iconic H-shaped cross-section-characterized by parallel, uniformly thickened flanges and a rigid central web. This process refines the steel's grain structure, eliminating internal defects (e.g., voids, inclusions) and enhancing impact resistance, critical for withstanding seismic activity and dynamic loads in construction. The hot-rolled finish ensures consistent dimensional accuracy (compliant with ASTM A6/A6M, JIS G 3192, EN 10025) across flange width, web thickness, and profile straightness, enabling seamless assembly with other structural components (e.g., brackets, floor slabs) and reducing on-site fabrication time.
