A36 Channel Steel is a hot rolled mild steel structural C section with inside radius corners that is ideal for all structural applications, general fabrication, production and maintenance. Channels are widely used in industrial maintenance, agricultural implements, transportation equipment, truck beds, trailers and more. Its C- or U-shaped construction is ideal for adding strength and stiffness when project loads are vertical or horizontal, as compared to angles. With the proper equipment and knowledge, this steel is easy to weld, cut, form and machine.
Channels are usually fabricated additionally in-line after hot rolling. They are coated or galvanized after fabrication to make them corrosion resistant. Channel steel can be cut, drilled or machined to a given specification. They can also be easily welded. Laser fusion technology is often used to create large channels.
