Hot working is more widely used because it requires less energy and is usually used for compression molding, such as rolling, extrusion, and forging. Hot rolling occurs at temperatures above the recrystallization of the material, where the temperature of the billet is raised above 1000°C and then fed into the rolling machinery. Continuous rolling results in the desired sheet metal (3 mm and above) or profiles.
