Nickel Alloy 20 (UNS N08020) is an austenitic metal composed primarily of nickel, iron and chromium. It was originally developed to meet an elite industrial need for resistance to acids, and Alloy 20 is particularly adept at resisting the damaging effects of sulfuric acid. Sometimes categorized as a "superalloy," Alloy 20 also has strong mechanical properties and is relatively easy to process and fabricate.

The performance characteristics of nickel alloy 20 include: excellent overall corrosion and oxidation resistance, especially in environments with high levels of sulfuric, nitric, and phosphoric acids; excellent resistance to chloride chemistry, including excellent intrinsic protection against stress corrosion-induced cracking; and excellent stability against sensitization processes.

In addition to its wide range of applications in acidic and corrosive environments, Alloy 20 is commonly used in the plastics, manufacturing, food processing, pharmaceutical and chemical processing industries.
