Boiler Plate Steel Products Description
ASTM A516 boiler vessel plate is suitable for welded pressure vessels with high notch toughness requirements.ASTM A516 boiler vessel plate is also carbon steel plate with four strength classes: 55, 60, 65, and 70.
ASTM A516 boiler steel plate shall be a quenched steel and shall conform to the fine austenite grain size requirements of ASTM A20/A20M. The thickness of ASTM A516 steel boiler plate is limited only by the ability of the chemical composition to meet the specified mechanical property requirements. However, the thickness of Grade 55 plate is normally limited to 305 mm. The thickness of Grade 60, 65 and 70 plates is limited to 205 mm.
