A1017 is a chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy steel plate designed primarily for welded boilers and pressure vessels designed for high temperature service.A1017 pressure vessel steel is available in three grades, Grade 23, Grade 911 and Grade 122, with varying alloy contents.
The maximum thickness of A1017 boiler steel is limited only by the ability of the composition to meet specific mechanical requirements. The steel must be killed and the A1017 pressure vessel steel plate must be heat treated. Tensile and NMness tests should be performed to assure the mechanical properties of A1017 vessel plate, such as yield strength and elongation.
